Inscribed by Van Eyk to fellow scientist Arthur Loeb on the front free endpaper. Light shelfwear. Spine sun-faded, with some slight fraying at the ends. Stain to bottom edge of pastedowns, with toning to endpapers and offsetting to front endpapers from a couple laid-in pieces of paper. Very good, no jacket. $75 CW428868

Head of spine faded and with the cloth chipped/frayed. Spine slightly cocked. Hinges tender and partially exposed. Front free endpaper with an old dealer price and notes in pencil. Boucard's address on the Isle of Wight stamped to title page, with a number stamped above the publishing date. 'Field Columbian Museum Library' embossed to same (this appears to be the only library marking). Interior appears otherwise clean. Gutter partially exposed at p. 79.
